Keeping in touch with off-campus students We have both a summer MA program and a summer residency doctoral program Advantages of use video- conferencing Provides the opportunity to continue to advise students Better than a phone call. ABD students all over the country and internationally are expected to attend doctoral seminars each week.

3. Ive been using Zoom for 4-years at TC. First introduced to Zoom by Kelly Parkes who used it at Virginia Tech I ve used video conferencing software including Adobe Connect and Webex for my doctoral seminar for about 10 years. I have found that Zoom is more reliable and more robust has more options that I m interested in using than other video conferencing software. How I use it. In addition to my doctoral seminar, I have used Zoom for a synchronous class, we met at 7:00 pm on Tuesdays, as well as for my weekly office hours and for advising new students, particularly in our summer hybrid MA program, who are scattered all over the world.
