  1. This weeks The Very Hungry Caterpillar inspired challenges are

  2. Challenge 1 Can you go on a bug hunt? This could either be done in your garden or on a walk with your grown up. Make a list of the bugs that you find.

  3. Challenge 2 The caterpillar in the story eats lots of food to help him to grow. Do you remember some of the foods that the caterpillar ate? What foods do you like to eat? Can you help your grown ups to prepare a meal? You could help safely chop, stir, add ingredients or wash up.

  4. Challenge 3 Caterpillar and chrysalis both begin with the c sound. How many objects in your home can you find that begin with c ?

  5. Challenge 4 In The Very Hungry Caterpillar , the caterpillar ate lots of different foods. Some of the foods were good for his body and some gave him a tummy ache I wonder why? Can you sort a selection of food from your home into groups of foods that are good for our bodies and foods that are a yummy treat?

  6. Challenge 5 At the end of the story, the caterpillar emerged from his chrysalis and had transformed into a beautiful butterfly. I wonder if Miss Toomb s caterpillars will become butterflies too? Can you make a butterfly feeder to hang either in your garden or local area? See if you can spot any using it.   7. If you complete 2 of our super challenges you will receive a bronze superstar certificate. If you complete 3 of our super challenges you will receive a silver superstar certificate. If you complete 4 of our super challenges you will receive a gold superstar certificate. If you complete 5 of our super challenges you will receive a rainbow superstar certificate.

  8. We will be reading a new story next Friday accompanied by new super challenges for you to complete. Please upload these onto Tapestry so we can see what super learners you are being at home. We hope you have lots of fun completing these!
