Prepare to incorporate best practices for teaching long class sessions via Zoom, such as pauses for learning and utilizing a variety of instructional strategies 4. Before the class session begins, post in Blackboard a description of what will happen during your session and all materials and directions for class activities. You will need... Convey emotions and interest using only your face and voice. Break up your session in segments, take 2-4 minute stretch/mental breaks between activities. Stop frequently to check for understanding, answer questions 10

Strategies: Set up problems to make interaction happen Call on students for responses as you walk through the problem to keep them engaged. Have students share and explain their responses During class, allow for practice time and have them share their responses. In Zoom it is often difficult to measure student understanding of the material and this is a good way to check. Break students into groups for the practice problems to keep it interesting. 15
