Exploring Canadian Engineering Grand Challenges for Educators
In this lesson, educators will explore the Canadian Engineering Grand Challenges (CEGC) and develop an awareness of sociotechnical grand challenges in the Canadian context. The CEGC overview includes six key challenges defined by Engineering Deans Canada, focusing on areas such as resilient infrastructure, access to sustainable energy, safe water, inclusive cities, sustainable industrialization, and STEM education. Educators will reflect on the meaningfulness of these challenges, watch orientation videos, and understand the interdisciplinary nature of addressing these complex societal issues.
