  2. Matthew 12:46-50 46 While He was still talking to the multitudes, behold, His mother and brothers stood outside, seeking to speak with Him. 47 Then one said to Him, "Look, Your mother and Your brothers are standing outside, seeking to speak with You.

  3. Matthew 12:46-50 48 But He answered and said to the one who told Him, "Who is My mother and who are My brothers? 49 And He stretched out His hand toward His disciples and said, "Here are My mother and My brothers!

  4. Matthew 12:46-50 50 For whoever does the will of My Father in heaven is My brother and sister and mother.

  5. Perpetual Virgin Mary?

  6. Why did Jesus say this? He had been performing miracles and healing the crowds casting out demons. The teachers of the law were saying that Jesus was doing this by the authority of Beelzebub, the prince of demons.

  7. Why did Jesus say this? His family was coming to him to lay hold of him because they thought he was out of his mind. (Mark 3:21) They weren t able to get to Jesus because of the crowds.
