Understanding the Story of Sodom and Gomorrah
The story of Sodom and Gomorrah from the book of Genesis highlights the grave sin and evil of the cities that led to their destruction. The narrative emphasizes the importance of righteousness demonstrated through hospitality to strangers as seen through the actions of Abraham and Lot. The authors of Genesis do not explicitly name the sin of Sodom and Gomorrah, but the overall message is clear about the consequences of wickedness and the importance of moral behavior.
