  2. Let Us make man in our image, according to Our likeness Genesis 1:26

  3. 1. Relationship with creation Genesis 2:7 7Then the LORD God formed a man from the dust of the ground

  4. Two wrong turns: 1. Asceticism (body is evil) 2. hedonism (body is irrelevant)

  5. 2. Relationship with Others Genesis 2:18 18The LORDGod said, It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.

  6. 3. Relationship with the Self Genesis 2:25 25Adam and his wife were both naked, and they felt no shame.

  7. 4. Relationship with God Genesis 2:7 7Then the LORD God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.

  8. Jesus restores our relationship with the earth. John 1:14 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us.

  9. Jesus restores our relationship with others. John 13:34 A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.

  10. Jesus restores our relationship with the self. Hebrews 12:2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame

  11. Jesus restores our relationship with God. John 20:22 And with that he breathed on them and said, Receive the Holy Spirit.
