Relationships, Sex and Health Education SYLLABUS PRESENTATION
How it was created Pastoral Manager has been trained by NHS Nurses aswell as other qualifications. Guidance has been followed by the DfE, the official handbook for RSE and also from training. Planning has involved Executive Principal, Assistant Principals, Pastoral Manager and NHS Nurses Based around department capability, comprehension and what is appropriate. Relationships 1. 1.1 I can understand the difference between Family, Friendship and Intimate relationships. 1.2 I can understand what a healthy relationship is and what an unhealthy relationship is. 1.3 I can understand how to treat others with kindness, consideration and respect. I can understand what a relationship is
Consent 2. I can understand what is meant by consent in all types of relationships 2.1 I can understand permission, boundaries and personal space. 2.2 I can understand what is acceptable and unacceptable when it comes to my body and others body. 2.3 I can understand the difference between appropriate and inappropriate physical contact
Human Sexuality 3. I can understand about human sexuality 3.1 I can understand the different types of sexual orientations and how this links to Family, Friendship or Intimate relationships 3.2 I can understand what a stereotype is and how this can lead to unhealthy relationships and abuse 3.3 I can understand the different types of gender identity
Online Safety 4. 4.1 I can understand about the potential dangers of sharing information and pictures online 4.2 I can understand the laws about sharing pictures (Nudes/Semi nudes), sharing/viewing indecent images of children is a crime and the consequences I could face 4.3 I can understand how to recognise risks and report issues I can understand what is meant by online safety
Sex Education 5. 5.1 I can understand facts and laws around sex, sexuality and sexual health 5.2 I can understand the age of consent and what consent is when it comes to sex 5.3 I can understand what contraception is and the different types 5.4 I can understand about sexual hygiene I can understand about Sex and Sexual Health
Dangers of Relationships and Sex Education 6. I can understand the dangers around Relationships and Sex 6.1 I can understand what the various forms of grooming are 6.2 I can understand what sexual exploitation is 6.3 I can understand what domestic abuse is 6.4 I can understand what rape, sexual assault and sexual harassment are
Opting in/out DfE guidance and RSE guidance states that Relationships, Consent, Human Sexuality, Online Safety and Dangers of Relationships and Sex is mandatory for students to take part in sessions. Everything that comes under the umbrella of Sex Education is optional If a student with the capacity to make decisions wants to take part in Sex Education but Parents do not, then the College has a duty to follow the wishes of the student.
How RSE will be delivered. RSE is designed to fully explore all aspects of RSE whether in mixed classes or in gender split classes. Group tutorial will be the session that this unit will be delivered by Class Staff. For Strive students it will be part of sensory stories/activities There will be 3 sessions (one a term) of Sex education delivered by Pastoral Manager and Head Nurse Outside speakers will come in once a term to deliver workshops to individual departments or mixed departments
Questions, concerns or worries RSE is a sensitive subject and College will try to be as supportive and respectful as possible. Forms to allow Parents/Carers to voice any concerns.
