Education is the root cause for any change which takes place in the social , cultural, spiritual ,political and economic aspect of human being. It also helps him to lead personal as well as social life successfully, adjusting with surrounding. We may say that Education is the means which help an individual to adjust with varying environments in order to fulfil his besic necessities and objectives of life.

  3. According to the meaning of education as interprited by different educational thinkers, we may classify the meaning of education in to to types namely 1. Narrow meaning of education : Narrow meaning of education usually implies imparting information, giving instruction, schooling, training, making people literate, teaching ,preparing for livelihood etc. Some concept of education from narrow sense (a) Education as mental discipline (b) Education by Accretion or storage 2. Wider meaning of education:- Broad meaning of education means the process of development from infency to maturity. In the broader sense all experience of our life are said to be education. Some concept of education from wider dense (a) Education as growth and development (b) Education as Adjustment and self-activity (c) Education as a lifelong process (d) Education as continuous reconstructions of behaviour.

  4. Forms of Education (A) Formal Education : Formal Education means any form of teaching learning process which has a generally accepted and regular set of rules, Organisation and pattern. This concept can be cleared from the following points- {I} It is strictly controlled {II} It is curriculum- oriented {III} It is evaluation or examination oriented {IV} It requires regular financing {V} It involves professionally qualified staff (B) Informal Education Informal Education is natural incidental it is easily under stood by the characteristics as given below {I} Not Pre-planned and Pre-detrmiend {II} Broad scope {III} No rigid rule {IV} Not Depend on Teacher {V} Education outside the school etc

  5. (C) Non formal Education: By Nature non- formal Education is highly flexible and inexpensive system of Education. This type of learning may arranged by an institution but is usually organized in some way in loosely organized manner (D) Characteristics of non formal Education {I} Relevance {II} Flexibility {III} Practicability {IV} Need based Education {V} Less expensive etc. END END
