2. Current State of the Pandemic in Florida Consistent decrease in cases in most counties ~44% of people have had one dose, and 33% are fully vaccinated Hospitalizations are trending downward again

3. Current CDC Guidance Reduction of physical distancing to 3 feet was for K-12 only; adults were not included in that Recognition of airborne transmission (not just droplet) Recognition of outdoors as safer than indoors Reduced focus on cleaning and disinfection

4. Guidelines for Fully Vaccinated People Fully vaccinated Both doses of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine, plus 14 days One dose of the J&J vaccine, plus 14 days Do not need to quarantine if you are a contact Can gather indoors with other fully vaccinated people in small groups without masks or distancing Can gather indoors with unvaccinated people from one household without masks or distancing

5. Vaccine Break-Throughs Per the CDC, as of April 26: More than 95 million people had been fully vaccinated 9,245 vaccine break-throughs had been reported to the CDC (0.01%) Of those, 45% were in people over age 65 27% were asymptomatic infections 9% were hospitalized 1% died

COVID-19 in Children Less than 10% of COVID-19 cases have been in those age 5-17 Overall, children are more likely to be asymptomatic or have mild symptoms Rates of mortality and hospitalization are low for children Hispanic ethnicity and black race are associated with higher risk of hospitalization and admission to ICU Kids who have underlying medical conditions are more likely to be hospitalized or admitted to ICU
