  2. 2 The GP35 setup The scintillator array could not only detect air showers, but also be used to cross- check if selected radio candidates are indeed air showers or only background.

  3. Technical aspects --->status Onsite installation and test

  4. 4 Components The scintillator detector consists of : waterproof cover, hut, detector support with 6 fixed adjusting angles, detector box, PMT, PMT divider, plastic scintillator and HV power supply.

  5. Assembling and debugging of 15 detectors

  7. Detector operation and maintenance

  8. Mistakes once we made: A. A fire line and zero line of the low voltage cable was short circuited. B.One 24 V cable was cut nearby 220 V power supply. C.The signal cable from scintillator to optical transmitter is not well connected. D.Bad welding in the HV divider.

  9. 9 Test results 3-fold coincidences are shown in red, larger multiplicities in green Zenith (top) and azimuth (bottom) distributions of events reconstructed with the 6-scintillators prototype array .

  10. 10 Summary So far, 6 scintillators have been deployed working together with the radio units ---for hardware tests OK Another 15 scintillators have been assembled and debugged on site. Developments of the full scintillator array will be arranged soon. The full GP35 array is expected to start taking data in Summer 2019. Thanks for your attention!
