The Patient Participation Group (PPG) at Lister Medical Centre is welcoming patients, carers, and GP practice staff to join and discuss various healthcare-related topics. The PPG aims to improve patient involvement, provide feedback on healthcare services, address patient complaints, and support health awareness and education. Ground rules include open communication and respect for confidentiality. Updates include management meetings, recruitment of new staff, and collaboration with Harlow South PCN for enhanced patient care services.

  1. PPG Meeting Dr Jey Selvarajah 25.07.2022 Lister Medical Centre

  2. PPG Group of Patients, Carers and GP Practice staff Open to all patients to join. All communities, groups, genders, ages, ethnicities, and disabilities representing the patient list are encouraged to join. We aim for this to be representative of the practice population.

  3. Purpose of our PPG To give patients and practice staff the opportunity to meet and discuss topics of mutual interest. To provide a means for patients to become more involved and make suggestions about the healthcare services they receive. To explore issues from patient complaints and patient surveys, contribute to actions plans and help monitor improvements. To contribute feedback to the practice on National Patient Survey results and practice internal survey including to propose developments or change. To support health awareness and patient education.

  4. PPG Ground Rules PPG Ground Rules Open and honest communication. All views are valid and will be listened to. Be flexible, listen, ask for help and support each other. Respect the practice and patient confidentiality at all times. Demonstrate a commitment to delivering results a group. PPG Forum is not a forum for individual complaints/ personal issues.

  5. Lister Update Lister Update CQC Partners and Management meeting every fortnight with ICB (CCG replacement) and CQC every month. We have sought external help to help address the changes we need to make. We have an action log which we are working through with RAG system. We are optimistic that together we can overcome this challenge.

  6. Lister Update Lister Update Recruited two new Salaried GP offering 12 additional sessions per week. We have a new Trainee Advanced Care Practitioner and Physician Associate offering urgent Face to Face appointments. All urgent appointments are offered Face to Face now. We are waiting new online consultation (AccuRx).

  7. Harlow South PCN Update Harlow South PCN Update We work closely with Hamilton and Ross practice as a Primary Care Network. As a PCN we now have a dedicated site. We employ 2 Social Prescribers, 4 Care Co-ordinators, 3 Clinical Pharmacists, 1 Health and wellbeing coach, 1 First Contact Practitioner. 1 and 1 PCN administrative manager. They work with practices to deliver services for our patients including health coaching, mental health work, social support, cancer care review, co-ordinating meetings including care home MDTs, End of Life Care MDT, medication reviews and chronic disease review. We are looking at Video Group Consultation as a new way of delivering long term condition reviews.

  9. PPG Next Step Recruit more people from our patient population; how can we achieve this? Aim for 5-10 members. Consider Face to Face Vs Virtual or alternate between both. Frequency of meeting; once a month Vs alternate Vs quarterly. Structure of meeting.
