  2. HRLax GHS Mission Statement The HRLax Girls High School Division s mission is to provide a structured league for the benefit of girls public High School lacrosse clubs as the League works toward school- sponsored and school-board approved VHSL team status

  6. US Lacrosse Team Eligibility Criteria All criteria must be met in order to be recognized by US Lacrosse. 1. Member of a High School Varsity team or scholastic club team 2. Monitor player academic eligibility and adhere to standard eligibility criteria for the school s varsity sports in their area. 3. Comprised solely of students who attend that school, (unless, by governing association rule, players from other schools are allowed to participate on the team). 4. Must be in good standing within area. (i.e. not on probation) 5. Receives recognition from high school or equivalent administration for a scholastic club in at least one of the following areas: Varsity letter Transportation Equipment/uniform provision Coaches stipend Field Use

  7. HRLax Compromise Requirements 1. Teams must be an approved HRLax Team participating in a Varsity Schedule 2. Teams monitor player academic eligibility and adhere to standard VHSL eligibility criteria 3. Teams comprised solely of students who attend that school (or per HRLax player assignment rules, players from other schools are allowed to participate subject to the guidelines of #5 below. 4. Must be a team in good standing with HRLax 5. Team will consists of either: a. Single school players b. Multiple school players as long as the number of players on the team not attending the school does not total enough to form a separate team.

Program Manager Responsibilities Oversee Home Games Pre-game: During-game: Establish Emergency Plan (with Coaches) Ensure facilities meet safe standards, coaches assist Ensure rosters are checked before games Exercise control over all contests Responsible for player eligibility Verify scorebooks at end of game

  12. Program Manager Responsibilities In-Game Sideline Management Only HRLax Coaches or Admin on sideline 2022 HRLax Coach Credentials displayed Allowed in the Table Area: The Bench Official (if assigned) Oversee official Timekeepers & Scorekeepers Players serving penalties

Program Manager Responsibilities Administrative Liaison Incidents to report to Operations: If Police or EMS respond to scene Any damage to property (incl. vehicles) Public criticism of officials (incl. social media) Concussions Report sportsmanship violations: Any altercations Coach ending a game early in protest Harassment of officials by a coach (or anyone) Coach or player ejection

  14. Coach Registration/Requirements Annually: 1. USA Lacrosse coach membership valid through May. 2. Cleared US Lacrosse background check. USA Lacrosse manages the background checks and provides the info to HRLax. One-time: 1. US Lacrosse Coaching Education Program (USL CEP) Level 1 Online Course 2. Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA) Double-Goal Coach Online Course 3. NFHS free online Concussion Training Course (annually for Virginia Beach coaches) 4. All Head Coaches are required to be US Lacrosse Level 1 Certified Level 1&2 COURSE FREE to all HRLax Registered Coaches. Level 2 is STRONGLY recommended

Player Eligibility 2022 Player Participation Zones on website and in GHS 2022 rules/policy Players must be registered with US Lacrosse, and HRLax, so that the club is covered by field insurance Players must be academically eligible in accordance to the individual High School s policy in order to compete.

New Player equipment assistance No more fee assistance New players who need assistance Can borrow a Stick and Goggles from HRLAX Up to 5 per team Families pay the US Lacrosse and HRLAX registration Application will be on HRLax Web Page: PM or Coach to apply for their players Reviewed and approved by GHS Leadership Only budgeted for roughly 35 players this year

  17. Player Eligibility Varsity: 9th thru 12th Graders may play Varsity JV 9th and 10th grade girls may play on either the JV or varsity squads at the discretion of the coach 11th grade girls (one year or less) 12th grade girls with no previous lacrosse experience

Player Eligibility 8th Grade players are eligible for JV teams If Club does not have a JV team, 8th Grade player may be rostered on the Varsity team (NOTE: rule D. 5 applies, once an 8th Grade player plays in their 5th Varsity game, 8th Grade player will have used a year of eligibility. See Rule D, 7,) The GHS Commissioner and OPS Manager shall be notified of any 8th grade players rostered on a GHS team. Policy aim to limit participation of 8th graders so as not to impede youth teams in the area.

  19. Player Eligibility JV players can play up to 4 Varsity games without being placed on the Varsity Roster 5th game played make player varsity Coaches will use discretion when placing players on the respective squads. A player who has been selected to START on a varsity squad should not play on the JV squad unless special circumstances have been cleared through the commissioner of the league NOTE: Does not apply to goalies

  20. Equipment Each club is responsible for it s own equipment needs All field players must properly wear eye protection that meets the current ASTM standard (F3077) for women s lacrosse. All eyewear must be SEI certified no later than January 1, 2020. All eyewear manufactured on or after January 1, 2020 must bear the SEI mark. 2020 NFHS Girls Lacrosse Rules Book Effective January 1, 2021, all goalie chest protectors must be designed for lacrosse and meet the NOCSAE performance standard, ND200.

Schedule Each varsity team will get 10 games, excluding tournament games Only in league games will count towards standings Individual teams will be responsible for scheduling out of league (OOL) games HRLax will not reimburse any costs related to OOL, unless an OOL game enables said team to reach the 10 games threshold. (exceptional circumstances) Scheduling - Need team blackout dates ASAP. No teams playing during Spring break.

All-Conference Selection Nominations Due: 15 May (Dates flexible) Nominations will consist of statistics and brief write-up Voting will occur via Survey Monkey: TBD Statistics accountability / vetting Vote for best players Players nominated for their primary position Each team will vote for: 1 x Goalie and 4 x each field position (A, M, D)
