  5. Spring Baseball Timeline Registration Closes: Closed 3/13 Zoom @ 7:00 pm Coaches Meeting: Conflicts Due in Coaches Tools: 3/14 (Don t forget TESTING DATES!) Email to schedule pickup Pants Pick Up: Schedules Posted in DaySmart: 3/20 Equipment Pickup change) 3/16 4:00 pm to 6:00pm at PSA 1 (Subject to Final Roster Locks in DaySmart: 4/17 Regular Season: 3/25 5/20 (weather permitting) 5/21 to 6/4 Post-Season Tournament Coaches Please Contact Parents/Players ASAP (they are expecting to hear from you!) All dates are subject to change due to weather

Pre-Season Checklist Your team should be paid in full Login into DaySmart and check roster for payment Send emails to players who have not paid Each player is responsible for an individual registration fee Your DaySmart roster should be complete and accurate Drop any players who are not playing this season Teams will be allowed to add players until 4/17 Must have a DaySmart account to be added COVID Policy can be found at psaplano.org

  7. Game Scheduling Coaches may submit game conflicts into Coaches Tools. Deadline to submit 3/14. We make best effort to accommodate conflicts submitted into Coaches Tools. Teams should plan on minimum of 2 games per week. Games times start 8:00 AM Saturdays, Noon Sundays, 6:00 PM Mon-Thurs All games will be played at Enfield Park or Carpenter Park. Game cancellation info due to weather on psaplano.org, Cancellation Tab Games cancelled to due to weather will be quickly rescheduled to the next available game slot. Game reschedules may fall on a conflict date or Sunday AM. If you cannot field team, please notify baseball@psaplano.org, 48 hours in advance. Teams who No Show may be subject to $75 fee and forfeit loss of 0-7 Game Swap procedures are available to avoid forfeits.

  8. Baseball Game Day Reminders ALL Coaches must have a Valid PSA Coaches Badge (Includes all Adults who will be on the field or in the Dugout). Must be visible at all times. ALL Coaches and players must be listed on the DaySmart roster. Games start on-time. Umpires have final decision on field conditions to play Always be prepared to start up to 15 minutes early. Fair Play Rules. All Players Bat, No player can sit consecutive innings Game Rules are on PSA website and ALL coaches MUST be familiar with rules prior to the first game On Game Days No Infield Batting Practice / No infield / No batting sticks Warm-up hitting restricted flight balls only No batboys/batgirls No pinch-runners, except Pitcher/Catcher

Baseball Game Day Reminders Home Team Responsibilities 1st Base Dugout Game Ball and Back-up Ball Official Book/Scorekeeper Winning Teams Enter Final Score into Coaches Tool Time Between innings 5 pitch max or one minute Mound Visit 1per inning (1 minute) 2nd visit in same inning pitcher must be removed Offensive conference 1 per inning any time a coach leaves the box to talk to the batter PSA will provide every team with 12 game balls. Each team is responsible for bringing two game ready balls to every game.

  10. Baseball Uniform and Equipment Molded rubber cleats or tennis shoes only Pre-K thru 6th grade Metal cleats 7th grade and up Matching jerseys with numbers are the back Catcher's gear required for all ages Protected cups must be worn Throat protector must be worn on the mask

  11. Baseball Rule Updates MUST use pitching certificate Guest Players are permitted in the regular season only. Guest Players must be registered with PSA Baseball in DaySmart Players can play up but are not eligible to play down. Arm Sleeves are permitted for pitchers Arm Sleeves cannot be white or have white on them Umpires discretion as to whether an arm sleeve would be distracting to the batter

  12. Baseball Rule Updates 7th Grade will be the only age on 80ft bases with 54ft pitching mound 8th Grade will be on 90ft bases with 60ft 6in pitching mound

  13. Baseball Rule Updates Interleague Play with Garland Baseball GB did not have enough teams to have a league. We will be including them in our schedule. 2 teams will participate in 4th Grade 2 teams will participate in 6th Grade 2 teams will participate in 8th Grade Anyone willing to travel to Garland for a game needs to email me tonight! If they participate in the post season, we will use the same standard for seeding as PSA teams.

  14. Baseball Weather Policy Cancellations and postponements are communicated through the www.psaplano.org website on the Cancellations tab. DO NOT CALL OR EMAIL ASKING. WE WILL NOT RESPOND! All Staff, Parents, Coaches and Officials should use My Lightning Tracker App (6 mile radius) At the Field, the umpire has the final say on safe playing conditions. Significant standing water on a field will result in a game postponement We try to reschedule games within 7-12 days from the cancellation/rainout

  15. Recommended Pitch Counts Strongly Suggested Pitch Counts: See table below for suggestions on the handling of pitchers with regard to rest periods. Adherence to this chart is recommended to prevent injury to pitcher s arms.   16. PRACTICE FIELDS Coaches control the location and schedule Please understand people live all over the county $25 Per Hour (with or w/o lights) Call every Monday 11am-4pm to book weekly First date to call is 3/27 Games will take priority. Could be rescheduled due to weather or games being moved Advanced Teams get 6 practices as part of the registration fee. Still need to call in weekly. You can also go directly through the city. Must be a Plano resident Visit them at Plano Youth Sports https://tx- plano4.civicplus.pro/830/Youth-Sports

  17. PRACTICE FIELDS City of Plano offers 2 Drop In Locations Sgt. Mike McCreary Park Old Sheppard Park These sites are first come, first serve There are no lights Bring your own drop down bases If fields are full, work with each other to try to accommodate sharing the space Cancellations page covers these locations as well

Sportsmanship Know the PSA rules Coaches must be familiar with the Code of Conduct Rules As the coach, YOU set the tone for the parents and the players Remind parents they are role models for their children Treat players and coaches with the same respect you would want for your own child and yourself Never yell at or touch an umpire before, during, or after a game Please use the evaluation tool in Coaches Tool

  19. PSA NIGHT w/ Rough Riders Mother s Day 5/14 PSA Day with the Frisco Rough Riders ALL PSA COACHES, PARENTS, AND PLAYERS will be able to purchase tickets for the game! There are $12 tickets or $18 tickets that come with a $10 food voucher. PSA Players will wear their jerseys and have a pregame parade around the field. Link to Purchase tickets will be available soon. It will be emailed and posted on the website.

PSA Umpire Information George Taggart is the Umpire in Charge and Assignor for PSA s Spring 2022 Baseball season ZERO TOLERANCE FOR HASSASSMENT OF UMPIRES Umpire shortages around the country PSA (George) is actively recruiting and training new baseball umpires.
