  1. Slow write Take it one sentence at a time. Make sure your sentences include the things that I have put on the list.

  2. This is what your Slow Write will be about. The next slide will show you what it needs to include.

  3. Sentence 1- Must include an onomatopoeia. Sentence 2- Must include a fronted adverbial (of place). Sentence 3- Must contain an expanded noun phrase with a prepositional phrase. Sentence 4- Must include a subordinating conjunction at the start. Sentence 5- Must contain an adverb. Sentence 6- Must contain two WOW adjectives (use a thesaurus to uplevel your choices). Sentence 7- Must contain a model verb.

  4. Here is an example of what you might write: Bang! The ancient, oak door swung open in the wind. In the midnight sky, a giant pearl looked down on the haunted house. Laid scattered across the overgrown garden was the shattered glass from the windows. Before I had a chance to run, I felt something grabbing at me. I tried to move but I was glued firmly to the ground. I wanted to look behind me but the absolute terror and the eerie atmosphere around me prevented me from doing this. Mum was right- I should never have come here.

  5. Remember that your writing needs to be written as a paragraph, not just individual sentences. Check that it is cohesive (flows well) and makes sense. Bang!
