At the end of the last chapter, Lil found a mysterious note in her parent s bedroom about a baby being born, 23 years ago. I wonder who that might be? I also wonder what will happen next with the plans to get the Mendoza family to Egypt! Lots more to find out, let s go with Chapter 9

Here are the answers I would give the questions set. I have written my answer in blue and my explanation of how I know think this is in green. 1. Why did Lil pick a post office far away? Lil chose a post office far away from her house so that no one would recognise her, especially in her Mum s skirt when she should be in school. Page 1. How long does the telegram take to send? The telegram takes around 30 minutes to send. Page 2. What has Mr Carter found? Howard Carter has found the steps to Tutankhamun s tomb. Page 3. Why did Lil get so angry? Lil got angry because Millicent and the other girls were being really unkind about Tulip, particularly referring to her race and appearance. Pages 9-11. Why does Lil have to stay behind after school? Lil has to stay behind after school to re-do her spelling test, because she doodled on the one in class. Her teacher said she defaced her test . Do you think Lil was right to hit Millicent? This is your own opinion I think that Lil was right to be upset at what Millicent was saying but should have tried speaking to the teacher rather than acting violently. How is Lil punished for hitting Millicent? Lil is punished by having her knuckles hit by a wooden stick three time. Her parents are also being sent a letter in the afternoon. Page 16.
