Animal Facts Description Description Gulper Eels mostly come in black, and some subspecies have a thin lateral white stripe. It grows up to 80 cm [31 inches]. The Gulper Eel weighs up to at least two pounds. The Gulper Eel have scales that are black. Unlike other Eels their jaws are very, very, very, weak. Diet Diet A Gulper Eel is a carnivore. The food that it eats are squid, fish, shrimp, and plankton. It uses its mouth to gulp up food. Movement Movement A Gulper Eel is a very bad swimmer so it depends on its tail for swimming. It wiggles its tail to move and it can t use any other body part to help. Since it depends on its tail, it goes very, very, slowly. A pic showing your animal.

The tropical seas have to be up to 1,640 feet to 1.83 miles deep. Most animals can not live in such a difficult environment. It has a slender and flexible body that allows it to survive extreme water pressure under the sea.
Life Cycle A baby Gulper Eel is born in an egg. Usually, they lay two or more eggs at a time. A baby Gulper Eel takes weeks to hatch. Nobody takes care of it,it just floats with the plankton. A baby looks like a curly leaf. Its baby name is leptocephalus. A picture of the animal as a baby or young. The adult Gulper Eel can only live by themselves. The adult Gulper Eel is very lonely. The adult looks like a snake in the sea with a big mouth. Adult Gulper Eels usually live 85 years. A picture of the animal as a grown/ mature animal.
Animal Interactions Gulper Eels have very large mouths with many rows of teeth. To protect itself it uses its mouth as a net. They use their pulsating glowing tail to attract their prey and quickly gulps them up. They also use their tails to attract a mate. The end of its tail glows pink and can give off occasional red flashes. Lancetfish have very large mouths with sharp teeth and two or three large fangs. Since the Gulper Eel lives in the depths of the ocean, its predator is a Lancetfish and other deep sea creatures.
