Classroom Technology Upgrades Summer 2016 Moving Lectern & Labs PCs to Windows 10 New Projectors coming with higher resolution & bigger, brighter, clearer images Projection compatibility with modern devices (native HD and widescreen format) Touchscreen monitors will also be added to lecterns as instructor s stations are replaced Classroom VCRs are being removed from service Evaluating opportunities in some rooms for wireless presentation for BYOD
High Definition Transition 2016 - 2021 Phased-in deployment over several years replacing 4:3 screens with 16:9 dimensions Upgraded rooms will look brighter & crisper especially fonts and detailed diagrams Deployment staged by building/floor Existing 4:3 presentations will look the same; no need to change anything Markstein Hall and SBSB this summer; ACD next summer 33% Larger 50% Brighter
Opportunities for Feedback Email Survey Coming Soon Most classrooms built since 2006 have offset screens to maximize whiteboard space older rooms were centered Looking for feedback on value in retrofitting older rooms to offset the screens as they are replaced Standardizing on 8ft screen width minimum Looking for feedback on the importance of standardizing screen height across similar sized classrooms Evaluating various wireless presentations tools Looking for faculty interested volunteering to test and provide feedback on the value of evolving wireless presentation technologies in the classroom
