  4. Backhand Serve The backhand serve is a technique used to start a match. It is performed by flicking the wrist, and a successful backhand serve lands at the front of the service box. It is performed by holding the shuttle with your thumb and finger, and holding the racket in front of your belly. The racket is then pushed forward and the shuttle should travel to the opposite and diagonal service box with a flick of the wrist. The backhand service is used in a game situation in order to outwit your opponent by forcing them to move to the front of the service box.   5. Backhand Serve Practice In this practice, I will stand in the area which is marked in green cones, and I will serve 5 shuttles using the backhand serve. I will aim to land all 5 shuttles in the blue coned area. If I manage this, I will make the coned area smaller to improve my accuracy.

  9. Overhead clear Practice To practice the overhead clear, I will play a game which has a new rules both players must stand in the coned area and not move, and see how many times we can hit the shuttle to each other.

  10. Drop Shot What is it? How do we do it? Explain a situation when the skill could be used in a game.

  11. Drop Shot Practice To practice this shot, I will play a drop shot from the red area, trying to land the shuttle in the blue area. If I am good at this, I will make the target area smaller to increase my accuracy.
