  4. Passing in Football Passing is a technique used to transfer the ball from one place to another. A basic pass is performed using the instep of your foot, kicking the centre of the ball and a successful pass goes straight to your team mate. It is performed by placing your standing foot at the side of the ball, head still and eyes focused on the ball. You bring your kicking foot through to strike the ball in the centre with the instep. Your foot should follow through to help increase power. Passing is used in a game situation in order to outwit your opponent by moving the ball around quickly to create space. Passing is most effective when it is done quickly and accurately.
