Sport Executive Officer/ AU President AU Structure AU Executive Team Club Committees AU members AU Staff Team The AU Clubs Officer is no longer an elected position and is a graduate intern position that sits within the staff Team. The role is now known as the AU Operations Assistant. The AU Vice President position is now an elected AU Executive role.

  9. Founded in 1975, Loughborough Students Athletic Union is a section within Loughborough Students Union and is one of the sporting strands students can get involved in at Loughborough University. What is the Athletic In the year of 2019-20, LSAU launched its 60th club which linked itself to the Para Sport programme, implemented recreational sport offerings into specific clubs and began its development review. Union? The AU had one of it highest membership intakes of 5,055 in 2019-20. We won the What Uni choices award for best University for Sport. BUCS winners for 40 years running. Best Athletic Union in the country for 3 years running.

  10. Our members are at the heart of everything we do, and it is our duty to provide them with the best experience possible. Loughborough is built upon foundations of great sporting heritage and achievement, and it is our prerogative to build upon that success, and continue to strive in creating the best sporting experience in the world .   12. You are the voice and leaders of your club. You are the bridge between the AU and clubs in terms of working relationships, collaborations and developing your club. What does it mean to be on an AU club committee? You are representatives of your club and the Athletic Union. You are responsible for what the direction of your club takes. Club members will look to you in times of need. The effort you put into your role will shape your experience and the success of your club. You are in a position of responsibility. You can gain and learn a lot- and also have a fun experience!

  13. Attend Training sessions Read Handover documents Speak and get everything you need from your predecessor. Meet as a committee Handover Checklist Complete Development plans, Budgets, coach contracts and other admin that the AU needs. Plan Semester 1 and Freshers. Get to know staff and AU Executives you will work closely with. Prepare questions that you need answers to before you start your role.

  16. The AU has endured its toughest year to date. You will be the year that will hopefully see the AU return to normality. But, there is still work to be done to achieve this. Make the most of your experience, a good committee member is someone who puts good work and respects their role and others. Engage and make the most of the handover process. Where you are unsure and/or want to ask a question- don t hold back! Reflect and plan as much as you can before you start your role- organisation is key towards starting the year well. Reach out and work closely with the AU Staff and Executive Team- their primary responsibility is to support and empower you. Enjoy your experience and take on opportunities that come your way through events and training- employers want to see this.
