  3. CSO Virtual Data Rooms Service What it is and who its for? A new CSO service that will provide a secure environment where Public Sector organisations can match their own data with additional pseudonymized data provided by other Public Sector organisations For what purpose? To carry out analysis that supports that supports evidence-based decision making, necessary for policy evaluation and formulation. 3

  4. CSO Virtual Data Rooms Service Why is the service for the Public Sector? Public Sector has well established data governance arrangements; GDPR, DPC oversight, DPOs Demand for data analytics to inform policy decision making is growing across the Public Service New service, cautious approach 4

Service Delivery Commenced with with a 4 Pilot Projects in 2023 involving: o Irish Government Economic & Evaluation Service o Dept. of Health o Dept. of Environment, Climate & Communications o Dept. of Agriculture, Food & Marine Planned completion of Pilot Projects is Q1 2025 Planned formal roll-out of service circa Q2 2025 5

  6. Irish Government Economic & Evaluation Service Policy Research Question: What has been the impact of the National Childcare Scheme on parental labour market decisions, childcare affordability and blend of childcare provision type? VDR will be open from mid-July until 31st January 2025 6

  7. Department of Environment, Climate and Communications Policy Research Question: What are the health issues experienced by those in areas with exposure to higher levels of air pollution? VDR will be open from mid-July until 29th November 2024 7

Overview of Pilot Phase During Pilot Phase Key Objectives of Pilot CSO is compiling a Lessons Learned report Reviewing current IT infrastructure & exploring further enhancements Interest in the service is already gaining momentum Develop the optimum technical solution for the service Develop best practice internal processes & procedures to ensure an effective & efficient delivery of the service 8

Benefits of the Service Efficient access to required data in a secure environment with protected access Supports public policy development, decision-making as well as efficient and effective policy measurement and implementation Reduced cost to store, secure and protect datasets within their own organisation Enhanced utilisation of secondary data secondary first CSO have established robust data governance arrangements, strict T&C s, we are experienced in delivering similar services CSO has significant repertoire of data to support delivery of the service 9
