In the SRRT/DWP Recruitment Campaign for 2022, Outmatch and Strengths play a crucial role in assessing candidates' capabilities. The process involves a video interview using the Outmatch platform, where candidates are evaluated based on performance, engagement, and consistency in activities. Strengths scoring criteria guide the assessment, distinguishing between weaknesses, learned behaviors, and potential strengths. Candidates must aim to score 2 or above to pass the interview successfully, showcasing high performance, motivation, and regular activity engagement.

  2. Outmatch Interview Outmatch Interview You can take the interview at any time that is convenient for you before the deadline that will be included in your invitation email and you can complete the interview on any PC, phone or tablet with a camera. Preparing for your video interview Before the interview we recommend that you: 1. Read the job description and person specification for the role and think about how you meet the criteria for the role. 2. Your application will be assessed using Success Profiles so research Success Profiles: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/success-profiles If you are using a mobile device: Make it stable. Ensure it s in landscape mode. Look directly at the camera, which may feel weird at first but makes the viewer feel like you re looking and talking to them Try to use a plain background or minimise any distractions - you should be the focus of the video. To remove echo and soften background noise make sure you re not in an empty room - the more stuff in the room the better Look your best by having the light source directly in front of you, whether that be natural light from a window or a lamp directed at you Dress in the same way as you would for a face to face interview What to expect from a Outmatch video interview: The interview will be conducted on a video interview platform provided by Outmatch. It really is as easy as 1-2-3. Our process goes a bit like this: 1, Decide whether you want to do it on a mobile or pc / laptop 2, Click the link in your email to enter the interview room 3, Test your audio and video and take your interview and you re done! 3. Strengths Scoring Criteria Strengths Scoring Criteria As the points system is 1-4, start from a baseline of 1 point and award an additional point for each of the below bullet points if the candidate demonstrates that they have high performance, are engaged when doing the activity, and do it as often as possible: Performance/Capability the candidate performs to a high level of capability or proficiency Engagement the candidate feels motivated, enthused and empowered when doing this task Use they do the activity regularly or as often as possible Candidates must score a 2 or above in order to pass their interview. 1 2 3 4 Weakness Learned Behaviour Potential Strength Strength Lower capability, lower use. A weakness is defined as an activity someone does not enjoy doing and lacks ability to do. Signs of a weakness include a poor response, lack of engagement, going off topic, or other displacement activity. engagement, lower Lower engagement, higher capability, some use. Higher engagement, some capability, some use. Higher engagement, higher capability, higher use. A learned behaviour is what someone can do well/ effectively but something they find draining - demonstrated because they believe it necessary, rather than through genuine preference. A potential strength is defined as an activity that a candidate shows clear willingness, desire and motivation to demonstrate, and can demonstrate some capability, but may not yet be fully developed. A strength is a combination of what someone enjoys doing, and what they re really good at. Candidates demonstrating strengths do so naturally and consistently. They are us at our peak and are easy to spot. OFFICIAL

  4. Strengths Example Question Strengths Example Question This is an example of a strengths based question: Are you someone who considers yourself to be good at building relationships? There is no expectation or requirement for you to prepare for the strengths-based questions in advance of the interview, though you may find it helpful to spend some time reflecting on what you enjoy doing and what you do well.
