  1. Visible Light

  2. One way to look at light is to describe it as a wave. Light waves do not need a medium to travel through, they can move through empty space. Visible light is part of the electromagnetic spectrum.

  3. Different colours of light have different wavelengths: Red: 700 nanometers Orange: 600 nm Yellow:580 nm Green: 500 nm Violet: 400 nm

  4. White light is made up of all the colours. When white light goes through a prism the different wavelengths bend by different amounts so when the light leaves the prism the white light is broken into the whole spectrum.
