INTRODUCTION Artificial Intelligence According to Kusumadewi (2003), "Artificial intelligence is a part of computer science that enables machines (computers) to do work like and as well as humans do." So artificial intelligence is a part of science technologically computers, which makes programming to do thing the features that can help human work. In this era, a phenomenon called artificial intelligence has emerged, a technology as known by many people and has begun to spread widely, starting from free ones and paidly. due to the times in all sector, one example is art drawing for digital illustration. Artificial intelligence is known as kecerdasan buatan manusia, which is basically a technology that can learn from experience in the form of computer system data with the purpose of helping human work From the past until now, even in the future, artificial intelligence technology will continue to develop according to the times There will always a technological innovations that can be useful for human work needed. Of course, on the other side, there are effects as well, both advantages and disadvantages about this phenomenon, that it arises from artificial intelligence especially digital ilustration In general, illustration artwork is done by manually using computer tools to produce an illustration artwork or what can be called is free hand method. RESEARCH METHODS In this research, the method used is a literature review or literature study with a review of similar previous research. Snyder (2019: 333) said that a literature review is a research methodology that aims to collect and extract the essence of previous research and analyze several expert overviews written in the text. Result The result of this research is to find out, describe and explain the role of artificial intelligence art of digital illustration with the results by analyzing relevant data amd sources in previous research.
DISCUSSION From the emergence of various artificial intelligence generator programs in digital illustration that are widely knowed by the public and media online. So that giving rise to opinions about this phenomenon. There are those who support it and will use this artificial intelligence program and some even refuse. its bad news for illustrators because can replace it from job. From various journals this study will be discussed in the discussion below. Artificial intelligence or what can be called human intelligence (kecerdasan buatan) is a technology created by human that can store data, used to make human work easier. Its not surprising that artificial intelligence is used in various sector. In terms of productivity, artificial intelligence work does not require a very long time compared to being done by human works. Just like artificial intelligence creates a work for digital illustration, Just with type the keyword instructions then the work or digital illustration will come out as what do oyu want. This is different from human illustration work which requires several steps of the work process. The public believes that the illustrations produced by artificial intelligence technology are not one hundred percent original artwork, because it is taken from various data and references by other original works stored in system data by artificial intelligence technology, could be online of a collection images and then modified and adjusted by user command instructions as what they want. In this case, the comparison between the work process of artificial intelligence and humans is artificial intelligence has not been able to develop and copy the experience or creative process that humans can do. Different from by human creative process, there is experience, knowledge, feelings and messages or purpose on the creative process or that artwork. DISCUSSION Artificial intelligence can actually replace human jobs example not only for illustrator sector because of its usefulness and requirements for each required sectors. However currently the artwork of produced by artificial intelligence cannot compete with the work of illustrations made by human work, as essentially like dealing with clients, detailed changes drawing and the originality or character drawing style of an illustrator. Because the results of artificial intelligence work are still similar to others tools generator, it's just there are various kinds of alternative artwork by modifications and references by various original artworks made by human work through reference system data. DISCUSSION The artwork of artificial intelligence cannot take away the unilateral rights of the owners from reference illustrator drawing and use it as commercially, or claim that it is a personal artwork. In this condition, illustrators should not assume that artificial intelligence is not needed, otherwise due to the emergence of artificial intelligence, illustrators have to think critically and clearly to can use it that technology for the creative process for example making this things easier, give references and ideas. Because humans are living creatures who at least need to rest and think for produce the best results what they can. DISCUSSION Next, regarding the phenomenon of how the results of artificial intelligence artwork. So the artwork produced by artificial intelligence cannot yet be said to be original artwork. Because its uses existing image references then modified using technology that feature from the users what they want. Because it would be considered plagiarism or imitating ilustrator else s artwork even if there are users who use the same artificial intelligence generator tool with the same command and thus producing the same artwork results too, so that similarities cannot be commercialized. Because it is plagiarism and is an not good attitude and is ruin to other people. Therefore, it uses artificial intelligence to produce an digital illustrative must be used correctly and wisely. It is important to understand and appreciate the reference artwork by other illustrators, and now because the public and illustrators responded to this phenomenon its artificial intelligence art digital ilustration, for example one of them is in online media to reject artificial intelligence as original artwork. Conclusion The conclusion in this research is The emergence of artificial intelligence cannot be avoided because this technology has begun to spread and become knowed by people. and until now theres are people who want still to develop it. Based on the discussion, the emergence of artificial intelligence technology has had a lot of effect in this discussion, especially for digital illustration to illustrators. so that this effect gave rise so many different views, resulting in this phenomenon. There are those who think that artificial intelligence is very helpful for the process of creating illustration artwork as references, for learning and ideas too. There are also those who think that artificial intelligence is considered very inappropriate when it comes to making original artwork and commercializing them. So that society for today lives with artificial intelligence technology which can still continue to developing and making this for tool productivity, especially working on digital illustrations.
Suggestion From this research about The Role Of Artificial Intelligence On Digital Illustration, there are suggestions for readers especially illustrators, as below: 1. Read often and increase your knowledge about artificial intelligence because technology will always continue to develop and find new discoveries in the future, so you can adapt and have a meaning understand about artificial intelligence. 2. Understand and learn about artificial intelligence programs that can help productivity as a tool and used correctly. 3. Focus the potential of illustration work so that it can be different from work created by artificial intelligence.
