  8. Survey results: attendance

  9. How do you feel during the Thursday class? Please specify if this is when you attend online or in person. Online I attend online on Thursdays. I feel interested in the course and find it helpful when we review upcoming assignments, learn about French sayings, and have discussions. It is a good opportunity to practice speaking/listening in French live as opposed to a recording. However, sometimes I lose focus/motivation because I think the Tuesday videos are pretty informative so I don't necessarily need to take any new notes or listen to the concepts again. At the same time, it doesn't hurt to review new content/practice as a class. I attend online; I feel engaged in the discussion, and I like that content is reviewed together with the class. Survey results: experience In person I attend class in person. It would be more engaging if there were more people that came to class. In-Person: I am engaged. C line is enthusiastic and ensures we all understand the concept. She is funny and makes a safe space to learn. I also like when we break into discussion groups. I feel safe to ask questions if there is something I don't understand. I attend in person classes and I feel engaged when in class. I usually look forward to Thursday class because its the one day a week I go to campus. Afterwards I always meet up with friends and study in the library. I attend in person and it helps me focus better and be less distracted Online/In person I attend both online and in person and I feel like I did before the pandemic; engaged and ready to learn

  10. I like the HyFlex as it gives everyone a fair opportunity to come to class. The only disadvantage I feel as a HyFlex student (as opposed to an online- only synchronous classroom) is that I do not get to see my professor's facial expressions when she teaches. Fortunately, C line has a very expressive voice. I would love to see Carleton adopt this format more widely, as I would strongly prefer to continue learning exclusively online. Moving to Ottawa would be expensive, and I would lose the ability to work if I had to spend time commuting to school. Survey results: HyFlex I think the advantage to going in person is that you actually get to know your peers and professor, as well as the campus. However, I personally learn well online and find it works for my schedule and needs.
