A pilot project supported by the HEA focused on providing industrial placements for academic and professional service staff to increase understanding of employer engagement in curriculum design. The project involved three HEIs - Aston University, University of Edinburgh, and University of Nottingham. Open to staff involved in teaching across the university, the project aimed to develop curriculum across various disciplines and roles. Key outcomes included redevelopment of student professional development courses, collaboration with external hosts like Skyscanner and The Melting Pot, and expanded connections beyond host HEIs. The project's learning experiences informed curriculum design, shared good business practices, and supported personal and professional development, benefiting both businesses and students.
