  2. Industry placements Every T Level includes an industry placement with an employer Focused on developing the practical and technical skills required for the occupation. Minimum of 315 hours (approximately 45 days) but can last longer. This can include shadowing days. Employers can offer industry placements as a block, day release or a mix of these, and can share part of the placement with another employer if necessary. Distinct from classroom activity i.e. not simulated 80% taught & 20% Industry Placement Working with Chichester College group ( CCG ) based at Crawley hospital and or Chailey Heritage

  3. T Level Funding ESFA fully fund the programme via college/school provider contract for 16-19 year old education Employer incentive payment for IP: 1000 per student max of 20 students per employer maximum funding any one employer will be eligible for is 20,000 working with another employer - both entitled to receive the incentive payment incentive payment comes from their local school or college placement must be between 27 May 2021 and 31 July 2022

Things to consider Lots of comms with Trust education leads/managers to support placements Carry out DBS/OH checks, incl vaccinations ( college pays for these ) Have Trust link to liaise with college/school and students Set clear rules and expectations Great opportunity to offer development of senior HCSW in clinical teams to support the students ie offering mentorship training and teaching courses Consider safeguarding agree what they can/can t do Communicate with clinical teams and plan with educators What s is your completion offer guaranteed interview for HCSW post? These students could then apply for the TNA apprenticeship and later RNDA New pipe line for Band 5 nurses!!

  5. Staff development and satisfaction Opportunities for Band 4/ senior HCSW / senior apprentices to be buddies, mentors or line managers Opportunities for staff to gain new management and mentoring skills Our teams feeling valued, challenged and developed Diverse teams with students who liven up the work environment Time Investment of time to plan and arrange the placement Investment of time to understand industry placements and T levels Allocate staff time to support and supervise the student Training and supervision Investment in induction, health and safety and basic training for the student Investment in mentoring and coaching, to support successful completion of learning goals
