Dwelling in the Sanctuary of God (Verses 1-4) God s people must see His dwelling place as lovely (v. 1) God s people must long with intense desire for His presence, in order to worship Him (v. 2) God s people must find peace and security and a home in God s presence (v. 3) God s people must understand how blessed they are to be in His church, in His presence and to be able to praise Him (v. 4)
Drawing on the Strength of God (Verses 5-8) God s strength makes His children blessed above measure (v. 5) God s strength is for those who set their heart on His ways (v. 5) God s strength can make a valley of sorrow a spring of joy/comfort/praise (v. 6) God s strength will strengthen us by our trials to resolve to reach heaven (v. 7) God s strength gives us confidence that God will hear us and answer (v. 8)
Delighting in the Service of God (Verses 9-12) Service to God brings us under His close protection (v. 9) Service to God (by our choice) is better than anything else on earth (v. 10) Service to God, even without entrance, is better than dwelling with wicked (v. 10) Service to God keeps us centered, comforted and covered (v. 11) Service to God requires dependence upon God and faithful living in order to receive God s blessings (v. 11b-12)
