The government has been working non stop to keep us all safe and to contain this vicious virus. Who needs to write a report? Workers of all kinds and students write reports on a daily basis. It s an important skill to have and practice. Notes on how to write a report? 1- A report will usually follow a simple format which can be identified over and over again. 2- Use headings, sub headings, bullet points. 3- Remember to use full sentences and new paragraphs for new ideas or parts. 4- The format may be influenced by the purpose and length of the report. _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Ministry of Education-2020
Steps of writing a report: There are five identifiable sections in most short reports: 1. Title 2. Introduction 3. Discussion 4. Recommendations 5. A sample report: A plan for a new airport The aim of this report is to show the advantages and disadvantages of building a new airport in this city based on the interviews that were made with the local residents. We have asked 100 residents 5 questions about this matter and collected the data on the month of February 2020. The majority of the residents were for building a new airport in this city. 70% of the interviewed residents explained that a new airport can bring more tourists and therefor help the economy of the country. On the other hand, 83% of the them residents also felt a new airport can decrease the load on the old airport which would lead to a better traveling experience. _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Ministry of Education-2020
A sample report: A minority of residents (30%) were against building a new airport in this city, explaining that it could lead to more pollution and extra traffic jam on their roads. We do recommend the building company to locate the airport a bit far from the residents houses and provide the travelers with group transportation in order to decrease the expected traffic. To sum up, people in this city would like to have a new airport that could bring them extra funds from tourism and easier traveling experience.
