Planning Strategies & Outcomes Information Literacy Perceptions Survey complimentary to the LibQual Survey Plan to incorporate results from both surveys into our overall assessment plan Findings for GCU were overall very positive, but showed key areas where improvements may be needed
GCU Survey Result Highlights Although faculty felt students should be information literate at graduation, the response was split regarding the level of competency actually achieved by graduation.
Important Questions for Feedback Question 9: What additional skills do you think students need in order to conduct college-level research? Question 10: Where do you think students learn information skills? Question 11: Please list any other methods that can increase information literacy skills and/or ways librarians can assist you with improving student research skills.
Incorporating the IL Perceptions Survey into the Assessment Plan Librarian Meeting to discuss survey results Meeting with Director of Institutional Planning and Provost to discuss areas of improvement Make further improvements as needed based on questions with lower scores. Use feedback from open-ended questions to improve the IL Assessment Plan Update Assessment Plan Update Strategic Plan, goals & objectives
