RDA & RDA EU 4.0 approach sustainability Global forum that facilitates research data interoperability: Research data sharing without barriers Neutral place to meet 6000+ international researchdata experts bottom-up & grass-roots Problem-solvingstructureof RDA members get help from the RDA community to find solutions The RDA recommendations& outputs & RDA ICT Technical specs acknowledged adoptable solutions RDA needs to keep its unique position to synchronise between the national, European, global disciplinary and sector stakeholders & deliver at global level as well as locally. 8. Nodes & Activities going forward 1/2 Nodes should act as the central contact point between the national / regional data practitioners and RDA, through the following activities: Creation, organisation and management of a national / regional RDA community; Participation in and representation on the RDA Europe Governing Board (as defined in section 3.2); Interaction with national research funding bodies and RDA governance; Promotion of open calls for European participation in RDA (plenary meetings, support programmes, ambassadors, early career programmes, etc.); Identification of strategic themes and domains as focus of European cascading grants / open calls; Organisation of events (meetings, workshops, training courses etc.) to disseminate & promote RDA activities and outputs; Dissemination of RDA activities and output and encouraging participation in RDA activities and adoption of outputs, leveraging on the knowledge of the local research system. Nodes & Activities going forward 2/2 The 9 European nodes, in addition to their rigorous, national activity provide robust support for the following roles within RDA Europe: Athena RC (GR) and the Science and Technology Facilities Council STFC (UK) both provide Secretariat Support to RDA; Barcelona Supercomputing Centre BSC (ES) support Industry activities; Centre National De La Recherche Scientifique CNRS (FR) support the Ambassador Programme; Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche CNR-ISTI (IT) provide editorial support for Data Science Journal; CSC-Tieteen Tietotekniikan Keskus OY CSC (FI); Data Archiving and Networked Services DANS (NL) are the RDA ambassador for the Social Sciences and Humanities (SSH) research communities; Max Planck Gesellschaft Zur Foerderung Der Wissenschaften E.V. MPG (DE) to support the Group of European Data Experts (GEDE) and the Atlas of Knowledge; National Library of Ireland NLI (IE) to be the RDA Ambassador to the Libraries & Archive community Structure & approach that ensure key activities are taken forward by the best drivers: Industrial Activities, Atlas of Knowledge, Ambassadors Programme; GEDE . 28/09/2024 www.rd-alliance.org - @resdatall
