Work Package 5.4

Aim of WP5.4

We will:
Examine the emerging challenges for prevention
of, responding to, and recovering from offshore
disasters in the arctic
The R.Q’s. we pursue are:
What are the main societal security challenges
related to offshore activities in the Arctic region
and how may these be mitigated by infrastructu-
ral improvements?

Planned Activities in WP5.4

1)
Mapping of offshore hazards and vulnerabilities
2)
Investigation and examination of existing modes
of organizational learning and knowledge captu-
ring from SAREXes
3)
Investigation of existing modes of imaging, disco-
vering and reacting to emerging offshore hazards
and vulnerabilities
4)
Development of a concept for computer-assisted
cross boundary tabletop SAREXes
5)
Feasibility study of the establishment of an ‘In-
ternational Rescue Hub’ in Iceland

Planned Activities in 2015 for WP5.4
