NSCAS Growth-Estimated RIT Data from winter and spring allowed for the calculation of a more precise RIT Based on recommendation from the Assessment & Accountability Advisory Committee-updated Estimated RIT from NSCAS Growth Spring 2022 Updated on 7/26/2022 Will continue to use the updated calculations for Estimated RIT in 2022-2023

  3. NSCAS General & Alternate Window 2022-2023 NSCAS General NSCAS Growth ELA & Mathematics (Grades 3-8) NSCAS Science (Grades 5 & 8) NSCAS Alternate NSCAS AA-ELA, Mathematics (Grades 3-8, & HS) NSCAS AA-Science (Grades 5, 8, & HS April 3, 2023-May 12, 2023 Please do not wait until the final week to start testing!

  4. NSCAS Growth Optional Windows Fall Window August 15, 2022-September 30, 2022 Winter Window December 1, 2022-January 31, 2023 Holiday Down Time-December 22, 2022-January 3, 2023)

  5. NSCAS Growth Optional in fall and winter Required in spring Looking for voluntary participation of about 5000 students per grade, per content area Results will inform starting point in spring-test design works with or without prior results NDE will use the highest NSCAS Scale Score for public reporting and accountability from all three administrations as long as the student met the blueprint

  6. NSCAS Growth 2022-2023 Administration Training 2022-2023 July 26, 2022 July 28, 2022 August 2, 2022 (1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. CST) Recorded and intended to be used for all three administrations (11:00 a.m. 1:00 p.m. CST) (10:00 a.m. 12:00 p.m. CST)

  7. NSCAS Growth Alignment for 2022-23 NSCAS Growth ELA Fall results aligned to legacy standards Winter and spring aligned to new standards Fall, winter and spring results based on legacy cut scores New cut scores determined in summer 2023 and used for public reporting and accountability NSCAS Growth Mathematics Fall, winter and spring results based on legacy cut scores New cut scores determined in summer 2023 and used for public reporting and accountability Cut scores will be validated in 2024 as alignment shift to standard anticipated to be adopted in fall 2022

  8. NSCAS Growth Professional Learning Rolling out additional professional learning through Certified Facilitator Program Help support the use of NSCAS Growth results Continuous Improvement Processes Using feedback from districts, NWEA and NDE continue to make improvements to the platform and reporting features Inclusion of RIT scores on school-level and group-level roster 10/7/22 Enhanced filtering and sorting Text to speech on Spanish

  9. NSCAS Growth & NSCAS Science Rostering and Grouping for 2022-2023 For all three administrations rostering and grouping will be managed through MAP Growth s system Much like last spring for grouping Pro-Better sync between local Student Information Systems and NSCAS Platform Pro-Districts can continue to use established methods for rostering and grouping Con-ADVISER data will not get cleaned up as soon Con-Pushes responsibility towards districts for ensuring all students are tested NDE will be working on processes for spring to help districts ensure all students are accounted for.

  10. NSCAS Growth Design Intended to check in at grade level and dig into what the student current knows

  11. NSCAS Growth fall and winter changes Still prioritizes grade level content initially Relaxing constraints to allow for the possibility of off grade level sooner Off grade level-two grades up and down to 2ndgrade Combination of item banks all for more depth at grade level than NSCAS alone Using additional grade level aligned items from MAP Growth to calculate NSCAS scale scores Increasing the flexibility and precision of the assessment

  12. NSCAS Growth Data from 2022-2023 will be used to inform data for the future! Determine typical growth for NE students Help teachers determine if students are on track for proficiency by the end of the year Provide predicted end of year score Allow us to examine future innovation to benefit teachers and students
