When George was young he often skipped school and caused trouble in his
neighborhood
 
Babe was famous because he was  a 7-time champion.(1915,1916,1918,1923,1927,1928,1932
He started his career as a pitcher because he was such a good hitter in 1918  he was turned into a everyday player
In 1921 he hit a record of 59 HOMERUNS
In 1927, he set a new homerun record of 60,a record that would last 34 yrs.
When he retired in 1945 he held in amazing 56 major tend records
 
Babe was named the greatest baseball player of all time by the sporting news
He was named the greatest base baseball player of the 20
th
 century by sports illustrated
On June 13,1948,Babes Jersey number “3” was retired by the Yankees
In 1936,Babe was elected as one of the baseball hall of fames first five inductees
In all, Babe hit 714 homeruns , a mark that stud until  1974
 
When Babe died he left much of his estate to the Babe Ruth foundation for
underprivledged  children
Babe helped give hope to millions during the great depression with his great baseball
playing
