What does it mean to be committed on What does it mean to be committed on this Leadership Team? this Leadership Team? Commitment to God Commitment to Family Commitment to Ministry (Dedication, Building Strong Ministry Teams, Growing Spiritually, Supporting the Ministry where you can help)
Every Leader must embrace these 7 keys: Every Leader must embrace these 7 keys: 1. Know Where the Church is Going 2. Create an Inviting Atmosphere 3. Create a Welcoming Experience 4. Care for Church Members 5. Provide Opportunities to Serve 6. Proper Management of Church Resources 7. Enjoy the Ride Don t get so caught up in the ministry of the Lord that we forget the Lord of the Ministry.
this Leadership Team must be engaged this Leadership Team must be engaged and embrace the mission! and embrace the mission! OUR MISSION: Has to rest in our ability to live for Christ outside of the wall; Engaged people are passionate people. They know what the mission is, they serve in it, and they live it out. They re passionate enough about it to invite their friends. Over the long-term in a church, you can accomplish more with 300 engaged Christians than with 3000 disengaged attendees. The disengaged group will dwindle. The 300 engaged Christians will advance the mission and never stay the same. Yes, only God can bring growth. But he uses people who are engaged to do it.
this Leadership Team must be this Leadership Team must be engaged and embrace the mission! engaged and embrace the mission! 1. CHALLENGE PEOPLE TO SERVE People who serve in the mission are people who are engaged in the mission. Paradigm Shift: I know this is change in our approach but encouraging people to volunteer may be more important than encouraging them to join a group. Our goal is to get everyone into a group, but only doing group can lead can feed into a self-centered agenda. I can only do this A volunteer mindset may yield their hands and open a door to their heart.
this Leadership Team must be this Leadership Team must be engaged and embrace the mission! engaged and embrace the mission! 2. PROVIDE A CLEAR PATH TOWARD INVOLVEMENT The challenge for many people who want to participate in a congregation is that they don t know what to do to get involved. Church websites can be fuzzy about next steps. So can church leaders. During services we need to be strategic listing things people can do to get more engaged in their faith and in the mission. Faced with too many choices, most people choose nothing.
this Leadership Team must be engaged this Leadership Team must be engaged and embrace the mission! and embrace the mission! At every level, we have to take the confusion away and simply help people engage. Volunteer We have to make our language from the front clear and direct. 3. FOCUS ALL PROGRAMS AROUND THE MISSION AND THE NEED FOR VOLUNTEERS. You can still focus on your assignment building your team, but always build to the bigger team. Talk about how you mission supports the MISSION.
this Leadership Team must be engaged this Leadership Team must be engaged and embrace the mission! and embrace the mission! 4. MAKE IT UNCOMFORTABLE TO STAY DISENGAGED People eventually conform to expectations. Tell a child he ll never amount to anything, and he ll likely give up on the dream of college. Tell a child she can persevere and accomplish the tasks ahead of her, and she likely will. People both rise and descend to our level of expectations.
this Leadership Team must be engaged this Leadership Team must be engaged and embrace the mission! and embrace the mission! The same is true in our congregations (adults, teens & children). When you don t expect people to do more than to attend our church, don t be surprised if all they do is attend our church. We are creating a culture through our words, calls to action on a Sunday, and in all your communications where you expect people to serve, join a group, bring a friend and give generously.
