DEFINITION OF TEAM Two or more people constitute a team Team is the sum total of: - combined abilities, efforts & actions - to achieve a shared resolve Football team s goal to win/score
TEAMS MAIN FOCUS Soul-winning the soul drive for every team (Gen 3:9; 4:9) - Whatever one s calling in life, his first interest should be to win souls for Christ. He may not be able to speak to congregations, but he can work for individuals. DA 822:3
Continued Existence of a team depends on: Combined individual abilities, strengths, skills Or collective performance of teamwork - Towards a common path or cause
TEAM MINISTRY VIEWED To be viewed in the context of: - God centred Mission - God centred Message Approach - God centred Missionary View it through stewardship lenses
MAN OWNS NOTHING Life and breath is God s (Acts 17:25) Eccl 9:10 All animals including cattle (Ps 50:10) All the silver and gold (Hag 2:8) Ability to produce wealth (Dt 8:17-18) What then can man legally claim for himself?

TEAM VERSUS GROUP Team: - All teams are a group but not all groups are a team - All eagles are birds but not all birds are eagles (Anonymous) - All the members of a formal organization of persons with skill and specific knowledge and whose individual abilities that are dedicated to fulfill a common goal
Continued Group: - All the persons that make up a formal or informal union Teamwork: - A set of individuals formally assigned or self-assigned according to their specific skills and competence to fulfill certain goals under the direction of a coordinator or leader
Continued Working as a Team: - It s a series of strategies, procedures and methodologies used by a work team in order to reach a specific common goal
WHEN IS GROUP A TEAM? When its tram members feel that they mutually need each other to act When the collective talent of everyone is an advantage and When the skills and talents of everyone are appreciated by all When the members perform their individual task with responsibility/dedication When each person has their work defined according to their ability
Continued When success just like failure is shared When there is cooperation among group members When everyone respects and values the place of each member (body members)
WHAT TEAM SHOULD KNOW Who are we? Where do we come from? Where are we? Where do we want to be? How will we get there and how near are we to our destiny? What resources are available to reach our destiny
