  4. Why teamwork? Teamwork is the collaborative effort of a group to achieve a common goal or to complete a task in the most effective and efficient way.

  5. What does teamwork in a student group look like? Offering to help out other committee members with their workload Working collaboratively to create well thought out events and socials Not being afraid to be a doer rather than a delegator

  6. Conflict Resolution

  7. Conflicts in Societies and Teams A conflict can be defined as a serious disagreement or argument. They usually involve a small disagreement between two parties, however can become much more serious if not managed correctly Conflicts can usually be resolved with a simple conversation, however sometimes intervention is necessary if this does not work They can occur at any time between both committee and society members, so it is important to be prepared for them should they happen

  8. Different types of conflict Conflicts between committee members Conflicts between a committee member and a society member Conflicts between society members The way a conflict is handled can depend on who the conflict is between and the severity of the disagreement

  9. Conflicts between members 1. Be honest and open with each other 2. Don t let disputes get in the way of friendships, separate them 3. Meet face to face, don t use social media! 4. Never expose the society or team to disputes 5. Don t use social media as a place to rant- it is unprofessional 6. Try to defuse the disagreement at the earliest stage 7. Do not take sides 8. Look after your own welfare 9. Take the appropriate steps depending on the severity of the issue 10. Remember- most issues can be solved with a simple conversation

  10. Who do I go to if there is a Conflict? Try and solve it internally. The President should oversee conflict resolution and be present if meetings are needed If the issues cannot be resolved internally, seek support from the President (Campaigns and Societies) or President (Engagement and Sports) Ellie Martin is Advice & Projects Co-Ordinator, and oversees any complaints
