Summer Term Week 4 Week Beginning 18.5.20 Creative Curriculum (Art, DT, Geography and History) Music, RE/PSHE, Science, PE
Date and Weather I have included a date and weather page each day so that you can discuss these with your children. Make sure they get outside every day (even if only for a few minutes at different points of the day) to experience and talk about the weather and how it changes. It might be nice to create a weekly weather chart and add to it every day. It would also be a good idea to discuss things like: What day was it yesterday? What will the date tomorrow be? What are the days of the week? What day comes 2 days after ________? If it is April now, what is the next month? Your children would also benefit from a recap of months of the year and the seasons. Here are some links to some songs they could practise or just listen to a couple of times a week. Days of the Week Months of the Year Sunny spells Cloudy with Sunny and Hot today, no A cool breeze Lots of rain Cloudy and and warm some sun hot wind and cloudy cool The Seasons

Then draw a timeline in your books to show the correct order.
The Hot Air Balloon The hot air balloon was invented by Montgolfier brothers in 1783. It has become the oldest invention that can successfully take people into flight. The illustration on the right shows the first manned hot air balloon flight in Paris, 1783.

History of Flight Timeline Draw a timeline in your books, like the one below and then cut out, draw or simply label where each invention came in order. PSHE It is important for your children to discuss their thoughts and feelings during this very particular moment in time the Coronavirus (COVID-19) lockdown. Today, can they complete a page about what they have celebrated during Lockdown? Easter? VE Day? Birthdays? This can be added to later if any more celebrations take place. They can draw this straight into their book, no need to print it out. Add some photos to your work if you wish.
