PROGRAMME
It is a collection of terms eg. B. Sc. (Economics) Honours
And M.Sc. (Economics)
TERM
An academic calendar is divided into two terms nicknamed
Semester.
COURSE
A subject offered in a term is called a course.eg.
Micro Economics I.
 
PRN
Permanent Registration Number. Eg. 17 06 02 22 001
First two digits 17 are for the year of joining i.e. 2017.
Next two digits 06 are for faculty  i.e. Humanities and Social
Sciences.
Next two digits 02 denote the institute code. i.e. SSE.
Next two digits 22 denote  the program code. i.e. B.Sc. Or 42 is
for M.Sc.
Next three digits denote the roll number of the students which
is generated  randomly by the Academic Co-ordinator.

This can be an evaluation in the form of presentation, viva,

Students Evaluation Basis As Per The
SIU Rules.
 
Institute declares the list of 
TNG
:  It consists of students with
OVERALL
 
attendance below 75 % 
for the term.
Institute also declares the list of 
CNG
: It consists of students
who are not in the TNG list but have 
attendance below 75% in
each course individually
.
Students with 
TNG/CNG
 will not be permitted to appear for the
term end examination in that particular course. They will be
appearing the examinations in next season as a 
backlog.
Internal Backlog 
is, if a student fails to obtain passing marks
i.e. B.Sc.- 16/ M.Sc.- 48 in the Internal examination of a course.
Term End Backlog 
is, if a student fails to obtain passing marks
i.e. BSc 24 / MSc 32  in the Term End examination of a course.
 
 
A student is fail if he does not obtain 40% marks in
each course.
i.e. 
Passing Marks 40 % of Maximum Marks i.e.
Minimum16 Marks in Internal and Minimum 24 Marks
in External. Same goes to M.Sc. i.e. Minimum 48 in
Internal, and 32 in External.
The University awards mark sheets at the end of each
Term.
 
Students Evaluation Basis As Per The
SIU Rules.
 
A student can file in revaluation only for Term
End examinations.
There is no provision to appear in exams to
improve marks or grades
 
ATKT Rule for 3 years Programme
 
A student will attend classes of all the years with
his/her batch. However he/she :
Cannot appear for end 
Semester

5 external
exams 
if he/she has 
a CGPA less than 4.0 in
Semester II
Cannot appear for end 
Semester-6 external
exams 
if he/she has 
a CGPA less than 4.0 in
Semester III.
The student must clear all backlogs within the
validity period of 5 years 
to be eligible for the
award of degree or his/her admission stands

Backlog Rule
 
A student should fill the online form for Internal Backlog as
well as Term End Backlog.
The student will procure the bank challan and backlog
form from the examination department and submit it on
time.
The dates for collection and submission of backlog forms
are declared by the University.
The student will be intimated about the dates by exam
department SSE through mail and notice.
A student can appear for Internal backlog however the
change in grade sheet would appear only if the backlog
form for the concerned subject has been filled and
submitted.
 
 
Rules of Examination
 
Students have to use only Blue or Black pen during the
University Examination unless instructed otherwise. Use
of black or colour pencil/colour pen/colour ball pen is not
permitted.
Use of pencil is permitted only in case of diagrams,
graphs etc. as per instructions.
Students have to bring their own stationery and
calculator (If required for the paper) at the time of
examination in a transparent pouch.
 
Students are not supposed to carry any
material other than approved stationery
material inside the exam room.
 
Students have to come in complete uniforms for all internal
as well as term end exam.
Getting a cell phone in the class room shall be considered
as a copy material.
Rude behaviour with any of the exam staff will not be
acceptable.
Candidate are required to be present at the respective place
of examination fifteen minutes before the commencement of
examination.
