CONFLICTS Make a group of 3 or 4 (or more) Applicability Try to have all colours represented
CONFLICT #1 You have been practicing all summer for a significant presentation, expecting your name to be called to perform in front of the audience. When it comes time to pick the presenter for the final day, your boss picks the person who always does the presentation. You know very well that you have practiced hard and you were really looking forward to at least getting to present once.. What do you do? How do you feel? HINT: Think about which colour would be most willing to present in front of a large audience? What colour may be the most against presenting?
CONFLICT #2 You are sitting through a long meeting and are asked to provide input on a particular issue. However, whenever you give your opinion, another group member steps in to explain how your solution to the problem will not solve it and is not possible. How will you react in this situation? How does it make you feel? HINT: Thinking about the true colours, do you believe that this person is intentionally trying to turn down your ideas? What color would this person most likely be?
CONFLICT #3 You are sitting in your office working on a vital task when out of the blue, your office mates starting throwing a ball over your desk across the office. They, too, have critical work to get done; however, they ask if you want to join in the fun. Knowing very well they also have work that must get done, do you join them? How do you react? How do you feel? HINT: Think about the colours at play in this situation. What would be the best way to find common grounds among the opposing colours?
THINGS TO CONSIDER ALONG YOUR JOURNEY What are the needs of your colour? What frustrates you about other colours? What is frustrating about your colour? What does your colour give to this group? How can you use this in an employment setting? Employment sought out skill: Self awareness
CHALLENGE YOURSELF Even out your colours Who is different from you on the team? How are you the same? What kinds of skills do others have that you are weak at?
THANK YOU! QUESTIONS?
