Hi Im Lyrica. I like writing poetry and I play guitar and piano.
Creative writing is a piece Of unique text that someone writes In order to express their feelings, Emotions and opinions.
What do you think of when You hear the words Creative writing?
But isnt creative writing Just stories?

EXPOSITORY Expository writing is used to explain, describe and give information perhaps a news article DESCRIPTIVE Detailed creative writing describing things and events in detail perhaps a review. PERSUASIVE Persuasive writing is writing in order to persuade someone to do something perhaps an advert NARRATIVE Narrative writing is writing that has a narrative sequence or order perhaps a story
But we cant have Creative freedom?

Techniques used in creative writing include: Vivid setting Dialogue Anecdotes Metaphors and similes Personification Alliteration Imaginative language Emotional appeal Heavy description MAKE PEOPLE LISTEN AND HAVE THE POWER TO EXPRESS YOURSELF WITHOUT HOLDING BACK. IMAGINE YOU VE JUST SEEN THE BOYS OF ONE DIRECTION IN TESCO (OR A BETTER BAND) HOW WILL YOU DESCRIBE THE ENCOUTER TO YOUR FRIENDS?
A metaphor is a phrase used to compare two things by creating a resemblance between the two. It is basically saying that something is something else without using words as or like E.g. METAPHORS The snow is a white blanket. He is a shining star. Her long hair was a flowing golden river. Tom's eyes were ice. Kisses are the flowers of affection. The falling snowflakes are dancers. The calm lake was a mirror. Can anyone come up With their own?
A simile is an emotive comparison of two different things You can recognize a simile through the words as and like E.g. Her eyes shine Like diamonds He was as handsome as Shawn Mendes My brother eats like a pig She s as red as a beetroot Anyone got their own examples? SIMILES
Personification is giving an inanimate object human feelings and qualities. E.g. Lightning danced across the sky. The wind howled in the night. The car complained as the key was roughly turned in its ignition. Rita heard the last piece of pie calling her name. My alarm clock yells at me to get out of bed every morning. Time flies when you're having fun. PERSONIFICATION Anyone have a good one?
Alliteration is when word next to each other or elsewhere in the sentence start with the same sound. E.g. Claire, close your cluttered closet. The big bad bear bored the baby bunnies by the bushes. Shut the shutters before the shouting makes you shudder. Go and gather the green leaves on the grass. Please put away your paints and practice the piano. Alliteration Share?
Hyperbole is exaggeration used for emphasis and humor. Usually used to make what you re saying sound more important. E.g. He's running faster than the wind. This bag weighs a ton. That man is as tall as a house. This is the worst day of my life. The shopping cost me a million dollars. My dad will kill me when he comes home. Hyperbole Who thinks they use Or hear hyperbole a lot Day to day?
Pathetic fallacy is giving human feelings to the weather and environment. Usually in a story the weather reflects the stories progression and character s feelings this is pathetic fallacy. E.g. The wind whispered through the trees 'The flowers danced in the breeze. <<--- Pathetic fallacy
Can you know write a few of sentences of creative writing can be fiction or non fiction using 2 or more of the techniques we have discussed? Here is mine as an example, and I ve chosen poetry The rain begins to fall, (pathetic fallacy) Bearing his tears among us, (personification) Why would we wetten (alliteration) When mum has already called us in for dinner. Here are the techniques to refresh your memory: PERSONIFICATION, SIMILE, METAPHOR, PATHETIC FALLACY, HYPERBOLE, ALLITERATION YOU HAVE 5 MINUTES SHOUT IF YOU NEED SOME HELP (NOT LITERALLY)
MAIN IDEAS TO TAKE AWAY: CREATIVE WRITING IS FUN!! CREATIVE WRITING SHOULD ALWAYS BE UNIQUE AND CREATIVE THE LANGUAGE TECHNIQUES ARE REALLY USEFUL TO GET YOUR POINT ACROSS AND MAKE WRITING EASIER CREATIVE WRITING HAS MANY FORMS NOT JUST STORIES!! NO CREATIVE WRITING IS BAD!!
