2. Earth The Earth's mass is about 5.98 x 1024kg. Earth is the densest planet in our Solar System (mass/volume). Earth is made of several layers with different compositions and physical properties, like temperature, density, and the ability to flow.

7. The Crust The Earth s crust is like the skin of an apple. It is very thin compared to the other three layers. The crust makes up 1%of the Earth. The crust of the Earth is broken into manypieces called plates.

9. The Mantle The mantle is the layer below thecrust. The mantle is the largest layer of the Earth. The mantle is divided into two regions: the upper and lower sections.
