BAND APP: YOU MUST FILL OUT INTEREST FORM in order to join the BAND APP!! Please join this BAND App if you are interested in trying out for the 2022-2023 CHEER TEAM. Cheer Prep Clinic &Tryout Dates: We will be hosting two Prep Clinic- we highly recommend attending these clinics as it is a great way to learn tryout material and get to know our program! Once link is live for the prep clinics- we will post them in BAND, so please stay tuned. CLINICS: June 17 &18 from 11-2pm in the Bogle Gymnasium July 15 & 16 from 11-2pm in the Bogle Gymnasium TRYOUTS: July 27, 28, 29 from 6:30-8:30pm in Bogle Gym July 30 11-1pm (this will be the final day and athletes will receive letter on this day with result)
WHAT DO I NEED TO DO IN ORDER TO TRY OUT? Register My Athlete needs to be completed before tryouts! (https://www.registermyathlete.com/) Please create an account and follow all steps to complete. You will not be allowed to participate in tryouts unless Register My Athlete is complete. You must attend all tryout days in order to be considered! Fill out the Tryout Agreement Form (on 1st page of slides) & JOIN THE BAND APP.
WHAT IS THE COMMITMENT? We practice three times a week, and all practices are MANDATORY (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday) We will be competing in at least three competitions including the possibility of going to Nationals in FLORIDA (UCA Nationals take place Feb 10-12) We will be cheering at boys/girls basketball games! Team bonding activities throughout the year! Fundraising events throughout the year!
WHAT DO I WEAR/BRING TO TRYOUTS? Black tank top/t-shirt. Black shorts. Tennis shoes or cheer shoes. Water There will be an update about masks once we get closer to tryouts.
WHAT WILL WE DO AT TRYOUTS? Cardio Strength (abs, arms, legs) Tumbling Chants BJHS fight song Dance Stunts One-on-one interview with the coaches
What skills do I need for tryouts? WHAT SKILLS DO I NEED FOR TRYOUTS?? Back handspring is highly encouraged Toe touch, front hurdler, pike Good attitude and ready to learn/ take corrections and apply them.
What are the expenses? HOW MUCH DOES THE CHEER SEASON COST? Expenses for the full season will be approx. $1500 which includes all uniform expenses/competition and USA Nationals competition in California/choreography. We will tumble at Dauntless Athletics Thursday evenings and tuition is $70.00 a month including a $30 annual registration fee.
