Credits Total of 24 credits 4 English credits 4 Math credits, including Algebra 1 and Geometry 3 Science credits, including Biology 1 credit in World History 1 credit in United States History credit in American Government credit in Economics 1 credit in Hope 1 credit in fine arts (art, music, and certain practical arts classes) 8 electives 1 class online
Grade Point Average (GPA) Must have a 2.0 Unweighted Cumulative This translates to a C average Think of it as four cups of water (one for each year)
Math Test Two Options: Freshman Prior to 2018-19 (class of 20 & 21) Algebra 1 Level 3 Pert Score 97 PSAT Score 430 on math section SAT Score 420 on math section ACT score 16 on math section Freshman 2018-19 and beyond (class of 22 & beyond) Algebra 1 Level 3 PSAT Score 430 on math section SAT Score 420 on math section ACT score 16 on math section
Reading Tests Two Options: Freshman Prior to 2018-19 (class of 20 & 21) FSA Level 3 SAT Score of 430 on reading & writing section SAT Score of 24 on reading subtest ACT score of 19 on reading section Freshman 2018-19 and beyond (class of 22 & beyond) FSA Level 3 SAT Score of 480 on reading & writing section ACT average of 18 on English and reading
What about Universities? Colleges require: at least two years of the same foreign language the ACT or SAT (these tests should be taken when you are a junior unless you have at least a 3.0 unweighted GPA and want to do dual enrollment ) Colleges prefer: students to have a 4thscience students to have three years of a foreign language students to have at least a 3.0 GPA in the core classes students who have participated in school activities and/or who have volunteered in the community College resources: www.collegeboard.com www.act.org

Elective Sheets Initial core recommendations will be put in for you Decide on the electives that you would like to take. Number those electives with 1 being your first choice, 2 being your second choice etc. Choose at least 5 electives. CHOOSE CAREFULLY! The choices you make in class today will determine what classes you take next year!
Whats Next? Take the form home and talk to your parents. 1. 2. Fill out your form and bring it back to your English class 3. Meet with high school counselor to review core recommendations and enter electives 4. Grades and test scores are important so do your best!

Go to fullsize image Go to fullsize image Attendance Only 9 days absent each semester are allowed before receiving credit denial. GRADES DO NOT AFFECT CREDIT DENIAL! Making an A in the class does not prevent the credit denial. A phone call and/or a note is needed to validate every absence. If you go to the doctor, dentist, or to court, make sure you turn in the documentation so those days are excused. If you are credit denied, there is an appeal form that must be filled out. The notes mentioned above will help with the credit denial appeal. However, credit recovery is not guaranteed.
