Dorm Inspections Common Findings
Common Findings Candles Extension cords Small appliances (refrigerator, microwave) plugged into a power strip and not plugged directly into the electrical wall outlet
Common Findings Covered smoke detectors with clothes/paper/tape/bags/clothes/hats Power strips without an automatic shut off switch power strips need to have an automatic shut off switch (red or green light)
Common Findings Extension cords plugged into power strips extension cords are not allowed on campus and shouldn t be plugged into a power strip Power strips plugged into power strips called daisy- chaining Electrical adapters unless they are automatic shutoff with an automatic shutoff light
Common Findings Trash/Recycling bring outside to trash/recycling dumpsters Items hanging from ceiling or bottle caps stuck on ceiling Items hung too close to sprinklers or on sprinkler heads hang items away from sprinkler heads
