Expectations Expectations Radcliffe Olympic FC supports the FA Code of Conduct & Respect and we have devised our own set of headline expectations to ensure the sessions are fun and run smoothly. For the Children For the Parents/Guardians For Coaches & Volunteers Try your best and have fun Play fairly no cheating, complaining or wasting time Listen and follow instructions of the coaches Treat other players, coaches and referees with respect Talk to someone you trust or the club Welfare Officer if you re unhappy about anything at the club Wear shinpads and bring a drink Wear trainers, astro trainers or boots with moulded studs NO metal studs Look after the school property and training equipment Please stay on site during the sessions to support your child Keep off the playing surface whilst coaching is taking place Remember to bring your child s membership card Encourage and applaud the children at the prize-giving Please respect all our volunteers, who are giving their free time to support the club Act as strong role models Place well-being, safety and enjoyment above everything Promote fair play and high standards of behaviour Adhere to the laws and spirit of the game Ensure all activities are appropriate for players ability/age Poor Behaviour policy 4 step approach In order to ensure the smooth running of the sessions, we may at times need to deal with disruptive behaviour. Our coaches are briefed on a process which we feel is fair and should be consistently applied across the groups: Step 1 : Child taken to one side by the coach spoken to 1 on 1 about the behaviour causing an issue and told that the next time will mean sitting out Step 2 : Child is asked to sit out with the coach explaining this is what was made clear as the consequence in step 1 Step 3 : If after returning to the field the child continues with the disruptive behaviour, the coach will take the child to parent/guardian to ask for support Step 4 : If this doesn t resolve the behaviour then the parent will be asked to take the child home 3
A Community Club A Community Club Our club is run entirely by volunteers from the coaches, the committee and the sign in desk. We rely on parents and guardians to continue to step forward to offer whatever time they can spare either as a committee member or as a casual contributor from time to time. If you are able to help, please email rofcjuniors@gmail.com or talk to any one of the committee members, coaches or the team at the sign in desk. Coaches Our coaches generally start as helpers, where no experience or qualifications are necessary Many go on to become FA Level 1 qualified coaches which the club funds We aim to ensure each group has a minimum of one FA qualified coach to lead the sessions It s extremely rewarding for the coaches and the children, so please step forward to offer your assistance by talking to any of the coaches on a Saturday morning Events & Charity Each year we aim to raise money for a local charity whilst creating fun activities for the kids to look forward to. These include annual fun days, participating in the local carnival, supporting school fetes and a Christmas party in the village. We are always looking for volunteers to help out with these activities so please let us know if you can support 4
Welfare Welfare Health & Safety Children s welfare is of critical importance for us: All kids to bring drinks and shinpads No smoking on site No Dogs on the SNA site No boots with metal studs No eating on the playing surface No excessive heading practice in lines with recent FA guidelines We have an appointed Welfare Officer for all concerns All our coaches are DBS checked All our level 1 coaches have basic first aid training. Please let us know if your child has any medical conditions that we need to be aware and keep a record of e.g. if they have an epipen. In a clarification of policy - A parent or guardian is required to stay on site for the duration of the session to support their child in the event of injury or distress and to facilitate toilet trips. We encourage your children to respect players, coaches and volunteers. Please support the coaches by encouraging children to listen ahead of each session. If you have any concerns that you would prefer to take outside of ROFC, then please contact the FA/NSPCC Child Helpline on 0808 800 5000. 5
