ESPORTS Electronic Sports
Esports officially stands for electronic sports, not to be confused with
videogames.
It’s much more that that.
What sets it apart is the level of organized competitive gameplay
between teams and its own strict set of rules and guidelines.
Esports is about teamwork, communication, strategic thinking and
leadership.
Offering of Games for League Play
League of Legends
Rocket League
 Smite
 
 
 
 The first game titles that are considered for published by Riot Games,
Psyonix and Hi-Rez respectively
 
League Structure
During the regular season, players will login on the
gaming platform directly from their school campus to
compete against schools affiliated with the league.
Schools will compete from their respected campuses
there is no travel costs occurred for league play.
This is a competitive interscholastic activity with no
travel required.
The Gaming Season State Championship will be held at
a neutral site.
ESPORTS Coaching Staff
Qualifications
Each school is required to have an Esports coach who is
onsite for all matches.
Any interested faculty member at school can be a coach
for the Esports Program
Number of Players on the Team
Each school can have an unlimited number of players on their team.
However, a starting roster for League of Legends and Smite consists of
Five players.
Rocket League rosters consist of Three players
Eligible Participants
Students who are incoming freshmen or
currently enrolled in high school are
eligible to participate on a high school
team and compete for the
State Championship
Required Equipment for Competition
Each player needs the following equipment for competition:
 One Computer/Laptop
 One set of peripherals (mouse and mouse pad, keyboard, headset,
monitor).
Students can use their own or schools could provide these.
Jerseys are optional but recommended.
Spectator Participation
 
Schools can livestream their matches on their own channels.
Organization for  broadcasting of the State Championships and
Club Finals taking place at The Grid Cyber Lounge in Tempe
Arizona
Broadcasting channels will be announced ahead of the
postseason.
The Gaming Season
The High School Inaugural Season is divided between a regular season and
playoffs.
The Seasons will run Fall and Spring
Matches will be played weekly.
Each school will compete in a single elimination bracket.
The top two top teams will compete for the state title at a live state
Championship event.
Competition schedules will be released ahead of the season.
The Jr High School will operate as school clubs and compete amongst each
other ending in club finals.
How Can Your School Participate
All Schools would have to comply with the Canyon Athletic
Association league requirements per participating schools.
 
Fees that will apply will consist of a team fee and player fee per
season.
