ACTIVITY 11: PRESENT YOUR IDEAS Being able present your ideas and work to people is an important skill. Presentations can be used to convince or persuade people, or to just give them information. In esports, there are many different scenarios in which you might need to communicate your concepts, plans or designs to secure relationships or clients. This could include presenting to: Investors Sponsors and partners Games publishers and license/rights holders Merchandisers / Manufacturers Players and teams Equally, giving and receiving feedback on your ideas is just as beneficial in evaluating what you've produced and how it could be improved.
ACTIVITY 11: PRESENT YOUR IDEAS For this task, you will collate all of the assets you have created for your esports brand and present them to your peers. Esports Presentation Materials and equipment needed You will discuss the creative choices you have made in developing your esports brand, from ideas and concepts to final production. Computer Presentation software Presentation screen Feedback notes template Pen / pencil This should include: Esports team logo and name Esports team mission statement and introduction Esports team jersey Esports team Esports highlights/promo video
ACTIVITY 11: PRESENT YOUR IDEAS Objective 1 To create and present a professional standard PowerPoint with a consistent use of design and style in fitting with your esports brand. To utilize more advanced features of the software Different types of slides (Title, Title and Content etc etc) Use of Styles (Title, Heading, paragraph etc) Simple bullet points on screen Use of NOTES section to contain presenters text Transitions one simple, subtle transition throughout (apply to all slides) Animations content appearing on screen (all at once, paragraph, with previous, on click etc) Objective 2 To write and provide constructive feedback to presenters using the feedback template.
ACTIVITY 11: PRESENT YOUR IDEAS For your presentation design: Keep it Simple Limit bullet points & text Limit transitions & animation Use high-quality graphics where possible Have a consistent visual theme Use colour well Choose your fonts carefully Giving the presentation: Stand confidently facing the audience. Make eye contact. Speak clearly and loudly so that everyone can hear you. Be passionate and enthusiastic about your work. Don t rush. Your audience needs time to read your slides and think about what you're saying. Say thank you and ask if they have any questions at the end.
ACTIVITY 11: PRESENT YOUR IDEAS Providing Feedback Feedback Guidance Feedback is any way in which a person shares their opinion on something and what they like or dislike. Feedback is most effective when given immediately after showing proof of learning. This makes the person more likely to remember the feedback. It could come from written or verbal feedback to an individual or a group by the teacher or peers. It is considered extremely important to enable you develop and progress as a person and with your ideas. Learners who are observing a presentation should write notes during the delivery and teachers should prompt individuals to provide feedback once the presentation has completed. It serves as a guide for people to get an understanding of what they did well and what they could do better. Constructive feedback should provide motivation. This means that you should also mention the strengths and successes, as well as the areas that they can work on more to improve.
