  2. FOCUS STANDARDS SS8H3 ANALYZE THE ROLE OF GEORGIA IN THE AMERICAN REVOLUTIONARY ERA. a. EXPLAIN THE CAUSES OF THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION AS THEY IMPACTED GEORGIA; INCLUDE THE FRENCH AND INDIAN WAR, PROCLAMATION OF 1763, AND THE STAMP ACT. b. B. INTERPRET THE THREE PARTS OF THE DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE (PREAMBLE, GRIEVANCES, AND DECLARATION) AND IDENTIFY THE THREE GEORGIA SIGNERS OF THE DOCUMENT. c. ANALYZE THE SIGNIFICANCE OF THE LOYALISTS AND PATRIOTS AS A PART OF GEORGIA S ROLE IN THE REVOLUTIONARY WAR; INCLUDE THE BATTLE OF KETTLE CREEK AND SIEGE OF SAVANNAH.

INSTRUCTIONAL ACTIVITIES MONDAY, FEB. 24 Bell Ringer- Quick Review what were the effects over the French and Indian War Note-taking- British Acts/ Discontent in the Colonies Activity- Road to Revolution Chart Students will complete the graphic organizer after discussing the presentation. Declaration of Independence Stamp. The students will design a stamp to represent the Declaration of Independence. They should include symbols or key words to represent the three parts. They will also write a caption that describes the stamp s design. HW- Review sheet- # 3-4 Test Friday

INSTRUCTIONAL ACTIVITIES TUESDAY, FEB. 25 Bell Ringer- Quick Fire Challenge Note-taking- 2nd Continental Congress & Declaration of Independence Activity-The Award Goes To The students will choose one Georgia s delegates to the 2nd Continental Congress and create an award for this person the person. Next, the students will write a speech about why the person is being honored with the award and what he did to earn this recognition. HW- Review sheet # 5, 11-13 Finish Declaration questions Test Friday

INSTRUCTIONAL ACTIVITIES THURSDAY, FEB. 27 Bell Ringer- Test format & Game rules Note-taking-Activity- Review game Activity-Revolution s Significant People Chart Students will complete the graphic organizer after discussing the presentation. GA Delegates Statue & Plaque The students will choose one Georgia s delegates to the 2nd Continental Congress and create a statue to represent the person. Human True False Have students go out into the hallway. Designate one end of the hallway to be the True side and the opposite end to be the False side. Students will start off in the middle before each question is read aloud. Read the first question from the Human True-False teacher sheet. After hearing the question, the students should walk to the side of the hall that they think is the correct answer. After all students have moved, say the correct answer and briefly discuss why it s correct. Continue this process for the remainder of the questions. HW- Study for Unit 2 test Finish review sheet
